Dr Mary Favier MB, BCh, DCH, Dip CBT, MICGP FRCGP

Dr Mary Favier is a past president of the Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP). She is a former member of the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) and was Covid-19 Clinical Adviser to the ICGP. She is a UCC graduate and completed the Cork GP training scheme. She is now a trainer on that scheme. She recently completed her second term on the board of the ICGP. She is a current member of the Irish Medical Organisation GP Committee. 

Dr Favier was a postgraduate GP CME tutor for ten years. She has been chair of the ICGP Education Committee and sat on its Professional Competence Committee. She has been elected to the Medical Council and sat on the board of the Medical Protection Society for two terms. She is a founder of Doctors for Choice and Start abortion providers support group and is current Co-Chair of Global Doctors for Choice.

Dr Favier has interests in reproductive health politics, the health impacts of deprivation, and in risk assessment and management in general practice. She likes to garden and to be out exploring the hills. She hails from Kerry.
